To celebrate new years eve 2019 we decided to go to Bintan Island. Located in the province of Riau Islands, Indonesia. From Jakarta, we took Garuda Indonesia Airlines for one hour and 15 minutes flight.
We booked Cassia Bintan as our accommodation to stay for three days and two nights. We booked the transportation through the hotel for pick up and dropped off which cost us Rp. 1.490.000/2 ways. It took us one hour drive from the airport to the resort.
We arrived at 1 PM. the room wasn’t ready, we need to wait for 2 hours. while we are waiting, we were at Xana pool bar. The pool bar is right on the beach. We sat there with the breeze of the wind and sounds of the waves, perfect scenery. Sad that they don’t sell coconut anywhere else, it could be great. We noticed the priced is too high with the quality of the food we had. The pizza is taste like a cheap pizza. I ordered mixed juice of strawberry and pineapple, taste good and fresh which satisfied me from the food I had.
The Beach has white sand and we can relax, especially we can walk along the beach and found quite place on the right side of the hotel. It was relaxing. The ocean feels warm (not as cold as other ocean in Bali or Lombok island). I can play and swim there for hours.
We love the room, with an ocean view and accommodating with all kitchen set that you can cook if you wish too. Unfortunately, they have a weird standard where the housekeeping only cleans your room every two days. With the price that I paid, I don’t think it makes sense. I was a bit disappointed about that. Even tho i need housekeeping before two days, they can do service to your room with additional fees.
At least the room is clean, and we can sleep well with that comfortable bed.
On 31st December, we take away some food from the other restaurant, and we set up a romantic dinner at our balcony. Facing the ocean and has a good talk, how grateful we are for 2018. The hotel doesn’t have room service for food and beverages, that’s the reason we did take away food.
Around 10.30PM we went to the beach and joining the other guests to do the count down. We walked by the beach at night (we said that it was our last walk together in 2018). We did the countdown with barefoot, and touch the soft of the sand. It was a beautiful night. The fireworks were massive. Everyone was cheering and clapped their hand at the end of the fireworks.
Before we got back to the room, we had another walk by the beach only two of us (that was our first walk together in 2019, how romantic we are !! haha).
We went back to the room, rest and sleep with an open window (that we can hear the ocean). The next morning, we need to check out early and to head back to Jakarta.
IT WAS A GREAT NEW YEARS EVE TOGETHER
Note: if you guys want to go there, make sure you bring some foods and water with you to save some money. The food is ridiculously expensive and for me, is not worth it.
