It was a Christmas eve night. We are usually going back home to Germany every December to celebrate it with Jakob’s family. This time we don’t want to go back to a cold place in Germany, instead we wanted to spend a lovely Christmas eve in a five stars hotel in Jakarta. So here I chose The Westin hotel Jakarta. I booked only one night stay to celebrate Christmas eve with my husband. Upon arrival, the staff helped us with our luggage. We entered the hotel lobby on a ground floor, passed the security checked. Feel safe, and suddenly the feeling is changed. I Felt that you are in a luxury hotel, the smells of the fragrance throughout the lobby was so good. I think it was green tea smells.
From the ground floor, you need to take the elevator to go to the 52nd level. There was another lobby with a reception for check in there.
Checked in time was smooth and the reception explained all the facilities very clearly. Only took 5 minutes to be with at the receptionist (as a standard of a five stars hotel). We booked a Premier room, it was spacious, and I love the interior in the guest room. We were staying on the 55th floor; we felt like we were sleeping in the cloud. They also have all the switch for the lights and the curtains beside your bed table. The size of the bathroom is significant, and I spent my time at the bathtub with hot water and a good view. It was a good day. Bathroom amenities smells good; I cannot get over it.
After Jakob and I enjoyed the room so much, we went to the swimming pool. They have an indoor swimming pool with a right temperature of the water. We spent our afternoon by the pool, and it was 1 PM already. Times flies so fast when you enjoy it. Our tummy was making some noise. That was because we were so hungry. We decided to have some bites. We ordered Marriott Burger with a tick beef inside, and salad plus crunchy french fries on the side. And Jakob ordered spinach omelet with salad and bread toast on the side. Both of our order was delicious. Even tho we need to wait 45 minutes for the food to come, but the staff keeps informing us before which is that it is an excellent gestured.
After we finished by the pool, we went to the locker room nearby. When you entered, you will see the locker on the right side of the room. They provided a rubber sandal while you are inside. I think it is right for security reason (so you won’t slip away). They have shower experienced where it was not working when I was there. And also a relaxing sauna with a green light on top makes you feel relax. Vitality pool is my favorite — a big hot tub with a view.
When we went back to the room, we planned to have a video call with Jakob’s family. The IT’s team helped us to set up the connection from TV to his phone so that we can have a video call with huge faces on the TV.
At night we chose Seasonal Taste restaurant to spent our Christmas dinner and was a great choice. My husband and I were pleased with the entertainment of little kids group who sang Christmas song (make us feel the spirit of Christmas). The photobooth is a great idea, so we had our pictures for memories in the future. The decoration of a CANDYLAND is fantastic. Not to forget the food was delicious and the variety of food is insane. We loved every bite of it. My husband found some German foods, and he was happy. It Feels home far away from home.
We continued to enjoy cocktails at Henshin, owh, i meant we enjoyed our juices (fruitful life), and it was a lovely evening.
The next morning we had breakfast in the same restaurant, and again it won’t disappoint us at all. from the service to the quality of the food. And I want to mention Chef Rofi (I hope I got his name right). I wanted to have a chocolate muffin, and it was finished when I came, he offered me to make a new one only for me. OMG, what a gestured. He wants to do something beyond what I expected. Five stars for him 🙂 . and we ended our stay with excellent memories, and we got the Christmas feeling too. For sure we will come back for another staycation anytime soon.
