Trip to Mount Bromo

On March last year, we went to visit Mount Bromo through Surabaya. Mount Bromo is an active volcano and part of the Tengger massif, in East Java, Indonesia. At 2,329 meters (7,641 ft) it is not the highest peak of the massif but is the most well known took the first flight in the morning from Jakarta and arrived in Surabaya at 8 am with a local airline. My husband already in Surabaya at that time because he had a business trip on a weekday before that weekend. We stayed at 4-star hotel, is not bad at all for Surabaya. We stayed in Surabaya for two days and one night. The first day we went to visit Sampoerna house and continued having an afternoon tea at Majapahit hotel. The hotel is a bit creepy with all historical story behind this building made of on1945.

And afterward, we went back to the hotel and took some rest. Around 11.45PM, Our driver picked us up from the hotel and started to drive to Mount Bromo. It took us 4 hours drive until we reach the first point where we need to change the cars. We went up to the mountains with a Jeep where took us about 1-hour drive until the top. All the way was a fantastic experience for us. Some of the roads are not even proper to ride, and there was some moment where you cannot see anything outside the window because there are too many foggy. Was scared that we will get into an accident, but we knew our driver is very professional and he knows the road well.

And finally, we arrived on top. Breathtaking views!! Cannot believe what I saw was orange in color mixed with white of cloud. The weather was a bit chilled, but it was very refreshing. Stood up there and looked all this beautiful nature, we had in front of us. Silent and blessed that we can experience those moments.

It only took us 1 hour, and the sun was out very brightly. We took some pictures and captured all the best moments in our life. Around 9 am we went down again, and we went to one of the highest waterfalls in Surabaya it called Madakaripura Waterfall. Still, in the area which is close to Mount Bromo, we can see a waterfall that is so spectacular and beautiful. This waterfall is commonly called Madakaripura. In this place where meditation considered as the last of the famous Duke of Majapahit that Gajah Mada. Let’s pay a visit to Niagara Madakaripura.We need to walk about 15 minutes until we found another beautiful nature.

And here we are, tired and exhausted but everything we did since last night was worth it. All of us were sleeping on the way back to the hotel. We need to come back to the hotel, has a good rest and check out. Headed to the airport and back again in Jakarta.
